When I started my research offBalenciaga and his legacy, what interested me the most was his exhibition I saw at the V & A museum at London a few years ago. Even before I started studying at Shankar, before I even knew what fashion is all about, the thing that intrigued me and attracted my attention was the X-ray project the museum did on his garments. These photos revealed what is inside the garments, their secrets. 

In my project I decided to do the the same thing. But to the human body.

And with that my inspiration was the blood vessels that are under our skin.

At the beginning of semester I took an extra class learning how to design in 3D with "Rhino". This opened me to a whole new world of technology and innovation. I decided to bring together Balenciaga׳s traditional haute couture world into the New World that fashion is entering to in the last couple of years. With that I started a long and ever g adventure of doing 3D garment

I scanned the figure to the program and started creating the blood vessels while taking into consideration the maximum size of the 3D printer. With that I got a figure that is assembled from over 90 pieces and over 200 connectors also printed in 3D. Which basically used as my seams of the garment. Those pieces were printed in four different printers working 24/7 around the clock for about a month. With the technical side I also had to find the right material to use since most 3D printing usually made with hard plastic material. So I decided to use flexible TPU. 

It was very important for me to create the feeling of air and lightness Balenciaga garments are so known for. ‏And for that the vessels are lifting the Tull jacket like it’s floating in the air.

אופנה מה היא

מה שסקרן אותי ומשך את תשומת ליבי היה פרוייקט צילומי הרנטגן שעשו לבגדים שלו

בצילומים האלה בעצם חשפו את הסודות של הבגד את תוספות התפרים הגדולות, העצמות המשקולות...

וזה בעצם מה שאני החלטתי לעשות רק לגוף האדם

ולהראות מה קורה אצלנו מתחת לעור 

בתחילת הסמסטר לקחתי קורס ריינו במסגרת הלימודים שלי בשנקר מה שפתח לי עולם שלם של חדשנות

 

וטכנולוגיה 

והחלטתי להפגיש בין עולם הקוטור הרולד פאשיון של בלאנסיאגה לעולם החדש ש אופנה נכנסת אליו בעשור האחרון

הבנה חדשה של גזרה והמגבלות של התוכנה והחומר מול הרצונות העיצוביים שלי

וכמובן בלי להתפשר על שום דבר!

העברתי את הגזרה לתוכנה והתחלתי למדל את העורקים לפיה. תוך התחשבות בגודל הנתון של ההדפסה. וכך בעצם נוצרה לי גזרה שמורכבת מיותר מ90 חלקים של הדפסה ויותר מ200 חלקים שמחברים אותם שהם בעצם התפרים שלי

ביחד עם הצד הטכני היה תהליך ארוך של מציאת החומר הנכון והצבע הנכון. מכיוון שרוב ההדפסות קורות עם חומר מאוד קשיח
